As a songwriter, I usually do the heavy lifting on lyrics and then collaborate with terrific musicians and performers to bring the song home. I like working that way—it makes the best use of my talents and draws on the creative strengths of those who will be playing and singing the music.

I’ve written hundreds of songs and worked with some great creative professionals. I have more than 30 songwriting credits on seven professionally released albums. Artists around the country use my songs in their shows.

I wrote the Cowboy Up theme song for the 2003 Boston Red Sox, with my good friend Tim Sullivan. That song was all over the radio and on the Fenway PA system for all home games. I live in Massachusetts, where I have won Songwriter of the Year awards three different times.

With my wife and co-writer, Michele, and Tim Sullivan, I wrote a one-man musical, Diary of a Songwriter, which has played to enthusiastic audiences and critical acclaim around the country. I also wrote Robin Right’s hit tribute to Tammy Wynette, Hard to Be a Woman.

I’ve had songs on the charts in England, Europe, and Australia, and reached the number one spot for several weeks with You May Have a Problem. A recent highlight was a showcase of my original songs at Helen’s Cabaret and Piano Bar in Manhattan. Some top performers in New York presented my songs to a sold out crowd—and it was the thrill of a lifetime.
